The Barn: A Vibrant Cultural Hub in Mariemont

Located in the charming neighborhoods of Mariemont, Ohio, The Barn serves as a lively cultural center, offering a range of weekly classes, workshops, rotating exhibits, and programming suitable for all ages. Formally known as The Woman’s Art Club Cultural Center, The Barn warmly welcomes residents from across the Greater Cincinnati area, embracing people of every age and background.

The Barn was built in 1924 by philanthropist Mary Emery as the “Resthaven Barn” to serve as a dairy and farm for the planned community. It housed animals and a plant nursery that supplied plants for Mariemont’s streets. In 1940, the building was transferred to the Village of Mariemont for use by the Village Maintenance Department, which primarily used it for storage until 2005. In 2006, the Woman’s Art Club of Cincinnati purchased the building to create a permanent home for the Club and directed its renovation to create a permanent home for the Club. WACC continues to oversee its operation and ongoing development as the Woman’s Art Club Cultural Center (The Barn).

The Barn invites people of all ages to immerse themselves in a vibrant selection of artistic instruction through its classes and workshops. The cultural calendar is filled with notable events, including the Annual Mariemont Paint-Out, stimulating lectures, lively dance classes, diverse art exhibitions, ladies’ nights, and interactive art-making sessions for families with young children.
